RPF Recruitment 2011 Notification Eligibility Forms
There is a requirement of 511 Sub-Inspectors in RPF (Railway Protection Force), recruitment notification for which was issued on 30th April, 2011 in major national dailies as well as in Employment News. What is Railway Protection force (RPF):
The Railway Protection force (RPF) is a paramilitary force protecting the life and property of Indian Railways. Its history is as old as Indian railway itself - it existed with various nomenclatures since Indian railway started to operate in 1854. Finally on 29 August 1957, RPF act was passed in parliament and than named Railway Security Force was renamed as Railway Protection Force.

At present RPF has 16 Railway Zones & 71 divisions.

Salary/Pay-Scale for RPF Sub-Inspector:
Salary being offered for these positions is Rs.13,500/- in the Pay Band of Rs.9300-34800/- including Grade Pay of Rs. 4200/-.

RPF Sub-Inspector Exam Eligibility:
Age Eligibility: (As on 01.07.2011)
Min: 20 yrs, Max: 25 yrs. Relaxations exists as per Govt rule.

Academic Eligibility:
Graduation or equivalent from a recognised university.

Physical eligibility
RPF Sub-Inspector Eligibility
In addition to above eligibilities, you must also have the minimum physical eligibility as given in section "(e) PHYSICAL STANDARDS" in the notification.





Selection process for RPF Sub-Inspector recruitment:
The selection process for the RPF Sub-Inspector exam consists of Written Exam, Physical Efficiency Test (PET), Physical Measurement, Bonus marks (if any) followed by Interview.

The written test consists of 120 marks Objective type question to be answered in 90 minutes from the test sections: General Intelligence & Reasoning, Arithmetic and General Awareness. More about it can be found in my next blog post titled: RPF Sub-Inspector Exam Pattern, Sample Papers & Books.
