Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS) has just just yesterday issued recruitment notification 2012 for 262 TGT (Trained Graduate Teachers) & 270 RLT (Regional Language Teacher) to teach in Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas. This blog article provides you the information on how to apply for Navodaya TGT & RLT Recruitment by quoting the eligibility required and the application process in a nutshell from above recruitment notification. What is Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya:
JNV (Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas) are co-educational, fully residential schools up to Class-XII and are located mainly in rural areas. A brain child of ex-Prime Minister P. V. Narasimha Rao, the first JNV was established in 1985. At present there are 584 JNV disseminating education throughout the length and breadth of country in all states except Tamil Nadu.
JNV are managed by Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti which is an autonomous organization under Ministry of HRD with eight regional offices at Bhopal, Chandigarh, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Lucknow, Patna, Pune & Shillong. States covered by these regional offices are given below:

Navodaya TGT & RLT Vacancy 2012:
There are 262 TGT (Trained Graduate Teachers) vacancies, region-wise break-up of which you can find in the table at right. As you can see these vacancies are for four streams:
Librarian, Music, Art & PET (Physical Education Teachers).
On the other hand there are 270 RLT (Regional Language Teacher) vacancies, region-wise break-up of which you can find in the table at left. As you can see these vacancies are for teachers in sixteen languages:
Oriya, Punjabi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, Urdu, Gujarati, Marathi, Bangali, Assamese, Nepali, Mizo, Garo, Khasi & Bodo..
Navodaya TGT/RLT Salary:
NVS offers the Trained Graduate Teachers salary in the Pay scale of Rs. Rs. 9300-34800 plus Grade Pay Rs. 4600. In addition to this salary, teachers are entitled to draw admissible allowance besides 10% special pay for performing additional residential duties.
Navodaya TGT Selection process:
Selection process for Navodaya Trained Graduate Teachers consists of a written test which has of two papers - of which Paper I (General Paper) is Objective type with 60 marks which has to be answered in 1 hour. The test section consists of General English/Hindi, General Awareness, General Intelligence & Reasoning, Numerical Ability and Teaching Aptitude. The second paper is a specialization Subject paper and is of descriptive type with 80 marks which you have to complete it in 2 hours. Navodaya TGT Eligibility:
Eligibilities required for recruitment as Navodaya Trained Graduate Teachers are as follows:
Age Eligibility:
Max 35 years as on 31.01.2012. Relaxations exists as per Govt rule.
Navodaya Art Teacher Eligibility:
Essential Qualifications:
Five years recognized Diploma in any discipline of fine arts as Drawing/Painting/Sculpture/Graphic Arts/Crafts after passing secondary school examination (Class X) or equivalent. OR
Post Graduate Degree in Drawing and Painting, Fine Arts from a recognized University/Institution. OR
Four Years Diploma in Fine Arts/Crafts from Vishwa Bharti Shanti Niketan. OR
B.Ed. Degree/Diploma in Fine Arts from Regional College of Education.
(Degree of Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) after class XII will be considered as equivalent to Five Years Diploma in Fine Arts after class X).
Desirable Qualifications:
Five years recognized Diploma in any discipline of fine arts as Drawing/Painting/Sculpture/Graphic Arts/Crafts after passing secondary school examination (Class X) or equivalent. OR
Post Graduate Degree in Drawing and Painting, Fine Arts from a recognized University/Institution. OR

5 Years study in Music institution recognized by the concerned State Govt. as equivalent to Graduate/Post Graduate degree OR
A Bachelor’s degree with Music from a recognized University and B.Ed. OR
Higher Secondary/Senior Secondary with any one of the following:
Sangeet-Visharad examination of Gandharva Mahavidyalaya Mandal, Bombay or Bhatkhande Sangeet Vidyapeeth, Lucknow or Indira kala Sangeet Vishwa Vidyalaya, Khairagarh(MP) or Sangeet Prabhakar examination of the Prayag Sangeet Samiti, Allahabad. OR
Following Degree/Diploma awarded by Pracheen Kala Kendra, Chandigarh:
(a) Sangeet Bhaskar with graduation in any discipline
(b) Sangeet Nritya Bhusan with graduation in any discipline

(c) Competence to teach through English & Hindi/concerned Regional Language as the case may be.
